La Antigua Guatemala
"Why La Antigua? For centuries, Guatemala has appealed to the well-traveled and well-educated. You won't need a car in this very walkable 12 square block city which, because of its 5,000 foot elevation, is spring like all year round.
From La Antigua, you can raft down unspoiled rivers and climb the volcanoes that shaded Mayan civilization. A day-trip will take you deeper into Mayan life; you can fly to the stunning ruins of Tikal in the morning and be back in Antigua in time for cocktails. Tikal is one of the wonders of the world. From your base in Antigua you can play golf on a championship course, snag a sailfish in the ocean or simply relax and soak up the rich ambiance that makes Antigua famous. The cultural diversity is a combination of Mayan and Spanish heritage, which produced more than 22 Indigenous Languages that are still spoken in Guatemala today.

There are beautiful restaurants, art galleries, lively bars, a theater and library. La Antigua is a multicultural, multilingual authentic Guatemalan town. If flying, you will land at the Aurora Airport in Guatemala City, which is 45 minutes from Posada Del Angel in La Antigua. There are nonstop flights from New York, Newark, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Mexico City, San Salvador, Madrid, and San Jose, Costa Rica. Normally, we have our guests met at the airport by a car and driver upon request. Car rentals and taxis are also available at the airport.
